There are several ways that you can get involved and help protect biodiversity within Hobsons Bay.

Biodiversity by the Bay

Wildlife Displays

Have you ever wanted to hold a blue tongue? Handle a snake? Get up close to a stick insect? Here's your chance this summer holidays! Come and visit one of our wildlife displays where you can see native animals up close and discover more about our local wildlife. The event is free of charge and bookings are not necessary.

Session 1: Wildlife Display at Brooklyn Community Hall on Tuesday 13 January 10am to 3pm

Session 2 & 3: Wildlife Display at Altona Meadows Library on Wednesday 14 & Thursday 15 January 10am to 3pm

Labcoat Learning

These fun and interactive sessions are designed for kindergarten and primary-school-aged kids to learn something about our natural environment and have fun while doing it. Participants will learn the 'Storm Water Story' play with mini-microscopes and learn how to make BIG bubbles so they can blow bubbles instead of balloons. The event is free of charge and bookings are necessary.

Session 1 & 2: Labcoat Learning Friday 16 January 9am OR 11am. RSVP here: events.humanitix.com/labcoatlearning

Bird walk at the Explosives Reserve

This is a great opportunity to explore inside the Explosives Reserve while taking stock of some of the native birds that inhabit this reserve. The event is free of charge and bookings are necessary. The event will be on Monday 19 January, 8am at the Truganina Explosives Reserve. RSVP here: events.humanitix.com/birds_trugexpl
