The Digital Switch

The Digital Switch is a community-led initiative facilitated by Hobsons Bay City Council in partnership with key community and service organisations that aims to address social isolation and loneliness, and to minimise gambling harm among seniors.

Funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, the project will link older people with young people to develop an environment that is safe for older people to participate and socialise in meaningful settings.

The project also aims to provide seniors with an alternative place to go to other than electronic gaming venues.

Please note - the intent is to deliver this project after COVID-19 social distancing restrictions have been lifted, with planning measures working towards an assumed safe commencement date in late 2020 or early 2021. The delivery phase will only commence with the approval of the Victorian Government Department of Health and Human Services in line with COVID-19 information and advice.
