Wellbeing in schools
Hobsons Bay UP runs a range of support programs in local secondary schools. These programs centre on topics that are pertinent to adolescent development and wellbeing.
Topics that these programs may address include respectful friendships and relationships, physical and mental health and wellbeing, safety, positive body image, self care, stress and anxiety reduction and homophobia free schools.
Hobsons Bay UP facilitators can deliver established programs or can develop programs to address a particular topic. Most programs are designed to run within a school term; however, the duration can be adapted to suit the school’s needs.
Hobsons Bay UP also deliver one off sessions to schools as part of school health days and similar initiatives. Schools may request a program to be delivered or co-facilitated. As the Hobsons Bay UP calendar fills very quickly, please contact us as early as possible to discuss your requirements.

School Focused Youth Services
What is SFYS?
Hobsons Bay UP is funded by the Department of Education and Training to deliver the School Focused Youth Service (SFYS) program to schools across Hobsons Bay and Wyndham Local Government Areas.
SFYS is available to support students from year 5 to 12 who are attending school but vulnerable to or showing signs of disengaging from school. The service is available to students across government, Catholic and independent schools.
Funding has been renewed until the end of 2021.
If your school is looking for some extra support with students who are at risk of disengaging, we may be able to help. Through SFYS we can access funding for small group student interventions and capacity building for staff and families.
