Community Playgroups

Local Community Playgroups

Community playgroups are regular gatherings of parents and caregivers with children aged 0-5 years.  They meet regularly for up to two hours at a time in venues such as community centres, halls, parks and in the homes of playgroup families. There are many community playgroups in Hobsons Bay 2022-Community-Playgroup-Directory.pdf(PDF, 455KB)

The Eastona Park Early Years facility (Altona North) caters specifically for early years programs. For more information email earlyyears@hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au

Parents manage and lead community playgroups as well as organising play and social activities for the group.

Community Playgroups provide:

  • an opportunity for your child to play with other children
  • a chance to meet other families in your community
  • people to talk to about parenting and to share experiences with
