Mesh Mash - Design Generator
The Design Generator is a new way to connect with emerging young designers and artists from the western suburbs who are keen to be part of the Mesh Mash story.
Designs can be developed that address one or more of the following themes:
- Natural Environment
- Social, Political and Environmental
- Western Suburbs
Creative young people aged 12 to 25 are encouraged to submit ideas. Designs can be provided as sketches, collages, graphic compositions or photographs.

There are no limits to how many designs an individual or collective can submit. A fee of $50 is paid for selected designs and artists will be credited for their works.
Mesh Mash is a social enterprise, based at Woods Street Laverton. All proceeds from sales go back into supporting creative workshop programs and opportunities for young people in Melbourne’s west.

Airtime Rotation 23 celebrates the diverse designs created by young people as part of the Design Generator program and will be displayed until August 2020. Airtime is a public art project that highlights the creative talents of young people in Hobsons Bay. Artworks are reproduced and printed on large flags and exhibited for approximately three months on the Altona Meadows flag poles located at the Queen Street Skate Park.
