Prepare Your House For Fire Season  Printer Friendly

You don't have to be surrounded by bushland to be at risk of starting a dangerous fire this season. Many of us have hazards in our own backyards that could put our family, neighbours and friends at risk of fire.

Reduce your risk of fire in your home by:

  • Removing flammables from high risk spots

  • Properly disposing of cigarette butts

  • Look out for anyone doing the wrong thing

  • Most importantly Butt Out; cigarettes pose one of the biggest threats to fire. If you smoke make sure you butt out and dispose of cigarettes properly. Report litterbugs who throw cigarette butts out of cars to 1300 - NO - BUTTS
