In October, Hobsons Bay City Council celebrated the anniversary of a 20 year relationship with sister city Anjo in Japan. The sister city relationship provides opportunities for citizens of Hobsons Bay to interact with and learn from the people of Anjo, and as a result many wonderful friendships have been created.
Known for its agricultural achievements, Anjo is located south of Nagoya and is home to around 150,000 people. It is the seventh largest city in the Aichi prefecture and is 48 years old.

For the second year running, Art in Public Places has been recognised with the prestigious Australian Business Arts Foundation (ABAF) State award in the Toyota Community category.
Art in Public Places is a project coordinated by the Council, and held in conjunction with the Bayside and Williamstown Festivals, as a municipal wide event that exhibits the artwork of western region artists in businesses and various venues across Hobsons Bay. The Laverton Arts Programme springs into life over the next few months, with an exciting arts program for everybody.
The Laverton Festival will run from Friday, 14th to Sunday, 16th November and will feature free rides, Police Band, car boot sales, local 'Freeza' bands, rock climbing wall and much more.

The Laverton Arts and Culture Forum has been set up to harness the energy around arts and cultural activities in Laverton, bringing together skills and creative juices to strengthen the existing programs and bring together a new vision for the Laverton community.
The forum meets once a month and is open to new members and ideas. The members of the forum have developed an exciting Arts and Culture Plan for Laverton which covers youth arts, community arts, performing arts, multicultural arts and public art. More...

Options include either printing out your tickets or collecting them from the box office prior to the show.

The Hobsons Bay Community Arts Centre Inc is a non-profit association whose aim is to transform the Newport Substation building in Market Street, Newport, and create a community arts centre which will provide a venue for the cultural development of the local community.
The Substation aims to become a centre for excellence in the arts for citizens of Hobsons Bay and other areas. When completed, the venue will be a world-class facility for the tuition, production and display of all facets of the performing arts and culture. More...

Cyril Curtain Reserve Public Art Commission is the final piece in the Bay Trail Public Art series. Artists with experience in public art commissions are encouraged to submit an expression of interest for the project. The commission is $27,000

Expressions of Interest are invited from artists or team of artists to create two new entrance gates as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Williamstown Botanic Gardens. The budget allocated for this commission is $45,000.
