Amendment C86 – Former Port Phillip Woollen Mill

The Minister for Planning has approved Amendment C86 to the Hobsons Bay Planning Scheme for which the Council is the Responsible Authority on 1st December 2011.

The amendment:

  • rezones part of the Former Port Phillip Woollen Mill site to a Mixed Use Zone with the exception of 21-23 Ann Street and 15-27 Aitken Street, Williamstown which remain in the Industrial 1 and 3 Zones and part of 3-39 Nelson Place (which front Aitken Street and Windsor Terrace) remain Residential 1 Zones;
  • applies a Design and Development Overlay 11 to the majority of Precinct 20 including a number of industrial properties with the exception of 23 Ann Street; 
  • applies an Environmental Audit Overlay to the following properties 17-21 Ann Street, 15-27 Aitken Street and 1 Nelson Place (the Titanic) Williamstown; and 
  • deletes the Design and Development Overlays 4 and 8 (Foreshore Height Controls) from the subject site only.

Copies of the approved amendment documentation and the Advisory Committees Report is available at all Council libraries and the Hobsons Bay Civic Centre.
