Health and Wellbeing Plan 2007 - 2011  Printer Friendly

The Municipal Public Health Plan is a document that all Councils are legally required to prepare every three years and review annually under the Health and Local Government Acts.

The health issues that the Municipal Public Health Plans address, vary for each municipality, but all plans need to:

Address public health issues that affect, or may affect, the people living in that municipality.
Identify ways to prevent and minimise these health concerns.
Evaluate the approaches identified in the plan.
 Review the plan annually.

The Hobsons Bay Health and Wellbeing Plan 2007-2011 was adopted by Council on 10th July 2007. The plan will be implemented through an annual Action Plan [DOC 235KB].

The Action Plan is a combination of tasks that will be undertaken by a number of organisations, including the Council, to achieve the goals and objectives. The text version of the plan, together with the background documents can be accessed via the links on this page.

For further information about the plan contact the Health Planning and Development Officer on tel: 9932 1000.

The Health and Wellbeing Committee

The Health and Wellbeing Committee, with its membership of key stakeholders drawn from the health sector and Department of Human Services, various areas of the Council, Victoria Police, VicRoads and relevant community sector agencies, will oversee the implementation of the Health and Wellbeing Plan and the implementation of the annual Action Plan.
