Health
Immunisations
The Council runs an annual immunisation program for pre-school age children, young people and adults.
Food Quality and Safety
Food must be safe, wholesome, fit for human consumption and comply with National Food Standards. The Council also runs several awards programs which focus on food hygiene and nutrition.
Health in Hot Weather
Information to help with rising temperatures this summer.
Nuisance Complaints
The Council is responsible for investigating and resolving nuisance complaints which may impact on residents' health.
Pest Control
Information and advice on pest control, including animal pests and insect pests.
Environment Protection
The Council is responsible for environmental protection and considering issues such as odour, noise and ground water contamination at specific sites in Hobsons Bay.
Prevention of Infectious Disease
The Council is responsible for the prevention of infectious diseases and regularly inspects local businesses to ensure they comply with government regulations and standards.
Head Lice
The Council can provide advice and head lice inspections on request.
Healthy Communities
The Council is involved in several projects and initiatives, in partnership with the community and health service providers that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents.
Tobacco Control
The Council aims to reduce the harmful affects of tobacco smoke through education programs and enforcement of government regulations in relation to the Tobacco Act.
