What NOT to put in the recycling bin

Incorrect items in recycling bins can damage our environment and harm process workers.

Removing incorrect items and cartage to landfill costs Council, and ultimately the community, because penalties can be applied by manufacturers if material is contaminated.

  •  NO crockery, Pyrex or broken glass
  •  NO motor oil containers
  •  NO hazardous or chemical waste
  •  NO polystyrene
  •  NO waxed cardboard
  •  NO paper with food remains
  •  NO nappies or household rubbish
  •  NO syringes

Lost, damaged and stolen recycling bins

The Council will replace or repair your recycling bin if it has undergone normal wear and tear, or if it is stolen. A Statutory Declaration may be required.

Additional recycling waste collection services

You can order an additional recycling bin at a cost of $80.21 per financial year.

Costs are based on collection and disposal fees, bin provision and maintenance costs, and administration. Service fees are included within the rates notice, subject to annual budgetary reviews and calculated on a pro rata basis.

If you move or no longer require the additional waste collection service, please contact the Council, so the wheelie bin/s can be removed from your property, the Council's records updated and the fee removed from your rates notice.

If you wish to take advantage of this offer or discontinue an existing service, please contact the Council on
9932 1000 or complete the Additional Waste Service form. The wheelie bin will be delivered within five working days.
