Photo competition - #OurBiodiverseCity
For our very first Instagram competition, we want you to connect with nature. Here’s how… take a photo in Hobsons Bay of your favourite native plant or native animal. Follow us on Instagram (@HobsonsBayCC), then upload the photo with the hashtags #OurBiodiverseCity and #WED2017, making sure you remember to tag us so we know when you’ve uploaded the pic. Please include the location in the message – and make sure the photo is clear – daylight photos are preferred.
This competition is open to people who live, work or go to school in Hobsons Bay. If you don’t have an Instagram page, you can submit photos by email which we can then upload onto Council’s Instagram page. The email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
There are two $100 vouchers for Newport Lakes Native Nursery up for grabs (one for the best animal photo, and one for the best photo of a plant), and the winners will be announced at a special World Environment Day event at the Planetarium on Monday 5 June. This year’s World Environment Day theme is ‘Connecting people to nature’.
The competition will be running for just under two weeks. We’ll be accepting entries until 5pm Thursday 1 June – and the winners will be notified on 2 June. The winning entries will be judged by two Council officers. For this reason, Hobsons Bay City Council staff are precluded from entering.
