Reconciliation cover art competition

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members* of Hobsons Bay are invited to submit their artwork for a cover art competition for Council’s Reconciliation Action Plan. This competition will be running during the official public exhibition period from 15 May and closes 26 June. The prize for this is $500.

The judging panel will be comprised of other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and the winner will be announced during NAIDOC week celebrations. Finalist pieces will also be in the running to be used in other Council collateral and artists will be paid in full and credited for use of these pieces if selected.


Submissions will address this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme ‘Let’s take the next steps’.

Submissions can be in any medium including:

  • Paint
  • Pencil
  • Clay
  • Sculpture
  • Weaving
  • Anything!
