Proposed budget 2017-18

At its meeting on Tuesday 18 April, the Proposed Annual Budget for the 2017-18 financial year was presented to Council in accordance with section 127 of the Local Government Act 1989

Council’s proposed 2017-2018 budget will deliver capital works projects to the tune of $35.13 million to improve local infrastructure. It is based on an average rate increase of 2 per cent and will continue to provide more than 100 important community services.

The draft 2017-18 Budget is now available for public comment.

In accordance with Section 129 and 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 and Regulation 11 of the Local Government (Planning and Reporting) Regulations 2014, if you would like to provide comment written submissions must be received by 5pm, Wednesday 24 May 2017, and should indicate if you (or a nominated representative) wish to appear in person to be heard by Council in support of your submission.

If you wish to be heard regarding your submission this will be held on Tuesday 13 June 2017 at 7pm, at the Hobsons Bay Civic Centre, 115 Civic Parade, Altona.

Council proposes to adopt the Budget 2017-18 and the Council Plan 2017-21 at its meeting on Tuesday 27 June 2017 at 7pm.
