Hobsons Bay Open Space Strategy 2014-2026
Parks, coastal reserves, waterways, plazas, botanic gardens and sporting reserves - it’s all open space! Hobsons Bay has a diverse open space network that is highly valued by the community.
Hobsons Bay City Council has commenced the development of an Open Space Strategy for the period 2014-2026 that will help ensure;
- open space is designed and managed to better meet the needs of our diverse and growing community;
- we have enough open space in the right places;
- the network can meet the challenges and impacts of climate change; and
- significant conservation areas and biodiversity values are strengthened and protected.
Visit this page for regular updates on the development of the strategy and key findings from the community consultation period.

What's happening now
Late last year the community survey ‘How can we improve your parks?’ was distributed across Hobsons Bay with almost 1000 responses from residents visitors and workers.
The results of these surveys have been collated and can be viewed here.(PDF, 3MB)
Detailed investigations are now underway looking at all our open spaces and comparing current levels of provision with the findings from the background research and consultation.
Results from these investigations and the community consultation will inform recommendations of the Draft Strategy.
