Council Plan 2017-21

Council Plan 2017-21

The Council Plan 2017-21(PDF, 2MB) and Initiatives and Major Initiatives 2017-18(PDF, 226KB) were adopted at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 27 June 2017.

The Council Plan 2017-21 guides the work of Council over the next four years. It is the doing part of the Hobsons Bay 2030 community vision(PDF, 5MB), which was created BY the community, FOR the community. The Council Plan has been informed by feedback that we have gathered from our community and it sets goals and objectives for creating an even better Hobsons Bay.

The Council Plan 2017–21 consists of 20 strategic objectives that are framed around four goal areas:

1. An inclusive and healthy community

2. A great place

3. A well designed, maintained and environmentally sustainable place

4. A Council of excellence

The delivery of each objective is supported by initiatives and major initiatives identified through the annual budget, performance indicators, and the Strategic Resource Plan.

Tracking our progress
Quarterly reporting on the progress of the Council Plan's initiatives and major initiatives is a legislative requirement and assists Council to ensure progress is on track throughout the financial year. We report quarterly on our performance, as well as through our Annual Report(PDF, 4MB).

Annual Community Survey
To understand and better plan to meet community needs Council undertakes an Annual Community Survey. The results of the survey inform our key planning documents, including initiatives and major initiatives for the upcoming year.

This survey involves 800 door-to-door interviews which seek feedback on a range of Council services and facilities as well as additional issues that the community are facing in the municipality. Below are the findings from previous surveys.
