Electoral structure for Hobsons Bay City Council

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) prepared the current electoral structure for Hobsons Bay City Council, comprising three wards represented by seven councillors.

The wards are: Wetlands Ward (two councillors), Cherry Lake Ward (two councillors) and Strand Ward (three councillors).

The current electoral structure was recommended by the VEC after conducting a review that included a public information session, two public submission processes and a public hearing. Hobsons Bay City Council’s demographics and growth potential were also considered in the VEC review.

The VEC report was approved by the Minister for Local Government, The Hon Jeanette Powell and was in place for the Hobsons Bay City Council general election, which took place on Saturday, 27 October 2012.
