The Corporate Management Team comprises the Chief Executive Officer and four Directors.

Chief Executive Officer, Aaron van Egmond

Bachelor Business (Marketing and International Trade), Certificate IV (Business Excellence)

Aaron commenced his role as CEO at Hobsons Bay City Council on 12 June 2018.

Aaron has been a strong leader in the Victorian local government sector for 15 years. Aaron previously served as CEO of Hepburn Shire Council for six years where he had a strong focus on project delivery, financial sustainability, operational efficiency and occupational health and safety. He also focused on significant improvements in customer service and community engagement.

Prior to his time at Hepburn Shire, he spent nine years at Towong Shire Council, where he served as Director of Development Services overseeing economic development, tourism, local laws, planning, building, environmental health and major projects.

Prior to commencing in local government, Aaron worked in the construction industry as a project manager throughout Victoria and New South Wales. He also brought his entrepreneurial skills to the development and operation of his own businesses focussed on construction, maintenance and property development.

Aaron oversees the entire operation of Council, as guided by the strategic decisions of the Mayor and Councillors of Hobsons Bay.

 

Director Corporate Services, Tammi Rose

Bachelor Commerce, CPA, Masters in Organisational Development, Graduate of AICD, Project Management and Continuous Improvement qualifications.

As a proven leader passionate about delivering excellence, Tammi has held senior roles in Local Government for over 18 years, in addition to holding roles in the private and public sectors and the not-for-profit sector. Tammi has extensive experience in regional city, interface and peri-urban councils and joins us from Mitchell Shire Council where she held the role of Director Corporate Services.  

The Director Corporate Services is responsible for:

  • Finance
  • Customer Service
  • Information Services
  • Governance and Local Laws
  • Organisation Development 

 

Director Community Wellbeing, Peter Hunt

Peter Hunt - Director Community Wellbeing

Master of Business Administration, Graduate Certificate in Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Librarianship and Diploma in Community Studies.

Almost 30 years in local government, working in regional and metropolitan local governments.

Extensive management experience in the

provision of Community Services and as a member of Council’s Corporate Management Team.

Director Community Services since May 2004. Responsible for:

  • Community Development
  • Community Care
  • Family, Youth and Children’s Services
  • Library Services

 

 

 

Director Strategic Development, Bill Millard

Bill Millard - Director Strategic Development

Bachelor of Social Science and Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Bill was a Director City Growth at City of Warrnambool with responsibility for economic development, strategic and statutory planning, city renewal, tourism, public open space planning, and environment and sustainability. He held previous roles at City of Warrnambool as Director Economic Development and Executive Manager Organisation Development.

The Director of Strategic Development is responsible for:

  • Planning, Building and Health Services
  • Strategy and Advocacy
  • Cultural and Economic Development
  • Communications and Community Engagement

     

 

 

 

Director Infrastructure and City Services, Sanjay Manivasagasivam
sanjay

Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), Advanced Diploma in Business Management qualifications, and over 14 years of experience in local government, private sector and non-government agencies. Sanjay has range of experience from leading major projects in highway construction, airport redevelopment, dam construction, community engagement and capacity building and town design and development.

Director Infrastructure and City Services is responsible for:

  • Capital Works
  • City Services
  • Active Communities
  • Strategic Infrastructure
  • Asset Planning
