National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Hobsons Bay

The NDIS is a National and State Government led initiative that will change the way people with a disability, their families and carers receive support. It will largely replace existing systems of disability care and support. The aim is that participants will have increased choice of services, and greater flexibility of supports.

If you are under the age of 65 and have a permanent and significant disability, you should test your eligibility for the NDIS.

When is the NDIS being rolled out?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will be introduced to Hobsons Bay in October 2018. The NDIS is administered by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

Am I eligible for the NDIS?

To be eligible for the NDIS, you need to meet eligibility criteria, including:

  • being under 65

  • meeting certain Australian residency requirements

  • having a permanent and significant disability

For more information visit the NDIS access check-list or call 1800 800 110.
