Altona Early Years Hub
Hobsons Bay City Council is pleased to announce the establishment of a new Early Years Hub in Altona. This Altona Early Years Hub will provide families with a state-of-the-art early years facility located on the site of the Altona College P-9 School.
The Hub will provide integrated early years services that will offer a range of early learning programs that support a strong transition to primary school.
The Hub will feature an innovative design that includes multi-use, flexible spaces to support an integrated service delivery model for families.
The Hub will provide access to a range of quality services and programs, creating an inclusive environment that promotes community engagement and participation.
A not-for-profit provider will manage this facility in conjunction with Council, actively encouraging and fostering community participation.
The facility is currently in the design phase and construction is anticipated to start in late 2017. It is anticipated the management provider will be engaged by Council early in 2018.
Services will include:
• Childcare and education – birth to 6 years
• Funded four year old kindergarten
• Three year old kindergarten
• Maternal Child Health
• Early intervention services
• Community rooms
• Family support services
• Other early years’ programs
The Hub is scheduled for opening in January 2019. Families who wish to register for long day care, kindergarten programs and other programs will need to contact Council’s Early Years team on 9932 1000 or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
