The presentation will focus on the research that is being carried out by Beyond Zero Emissions under the “Zero Carbon Australia Project".

The Zero Carbon Australia Project (ZCA) is an innovative strategy of Beyond Zero Emissions and the University of Melbourne’s Energy Research Institute, as it is a roadmap for the transition to an environmentally sustainable Australia. These pathways will be identified through the discussion of sustainable architecture, transportation and renewable energy resources.

 Bird Survey with Friends of Greenwich Bay

The Friends of Greenwich Bay along with the Councils Conservation Ranger is running the first of their four bird surveying activities for the year.

The event will be held in the newly vegetated areas fronting the river known as Sandy Point and The Spit. There will be experienced bird watchers on hand to assist. The area is home to migratory wading birds from as far away as Siberia.

This event will appeal to birdwatchers and to those who would just like to have a leisurely guided walk around the area.

 Scenic Tour of Laverton Creek

Come on down to Laverton Creek and explore the waterway. The Friends of Laverton Creek with the assistance of the Laverton Community Association, Melbourne Water, and Hobsons Bay City Council are conducting a guided bus tour along the length of Laverton Creek.

A free barbecue will be provided at the end of the tour.

 Garden Bed Maintenance with Friends of Skeleton Creek
