World Migratory Bird Day is an annual awareness-raising campaign highlighting the need for the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. Hobsons Bay is a significant location for one of nature’s most extraordinary annual migrations. Around April every year, thousands of our shorebirds such as the red-necked stint and sharp-tailed sandpiper, take to the sky and travel to their breeding grounds in Siberia and Alaska.
Hobsons Bay is where they spend their summer. Our home is their home.
