Some birds travel over 10,000km to get to their destination. We're asking you to go down the road...!

Along with Newport Folk and Fiddle Club and Birdlife Australia, we're invite you to come down and be involved in a great day of FREE, family-friendly activities to learn more about our unique bird life.

St Marys Primary Williamstown and Spotswood Primary will be there helping us celebrate World Migratory Day by running craft activities, and a Bird Selfie Booth. There will be loads of other fun activities for the kids to help them learn more about our unique bird life.

World Migratory Bird Day is an annual awareness-raising campaign highlighting the need for the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. Hobsons Bay is a significant location for one of nature’s most extraordinary annual migrations. Around April every year, thousands of our shorebirds such as the red-necked stint and sharp-tailed sandpiper, take to the sky and travel to their breeding grounds in Siberia and Alaska.

Hobsons Bay is where they spend their summer. Our home is their home.
