Lohse Street Reserve Crn Lohse and Woods streets, Laverton ,

Five years ago, Woods Street Arts Space transformed a disused building, the former Laverton Post Office into a vibrant arts space. The face of Woods Street has changed in that time. Blockumentary is a short film that documents that change from the viewpoint of locals, giving light to the stories and the characters that make our community.
For one night only, Lohse Street Reserve will be transformed into an outdoor cinema and you’re invited to join the filmmakers, the stars and the local community for a very special premier screening, with all the trimmings; entertainment, red carpet and popcorn. And don’t worry if you’re not in the film, there’s still a chance to let your star shine on stage as part of the  ‘One Hit Wonders’ open mic talent search – register now at

This is part of Art and Public Places, a month-long, multi venue celebration of art and ideas, in all their forms, throughout Hobsons Bay. Everyday spaces become art sites as we discover artwork and artists from around the world and around the corner. Art in Public Places reminds us of the importance of public space for its ability to host diverse social exchanges and the communication of ideas to those who seek them, and those who happen upon them, in equal measure. Featuring a dynamic visual representation of sound, an augmented reality guided tour that takes care of you to, the international premier of a film about our very own Laverton, ‘Glow’ - by kids, for kids – and so much more.
