Events and Festivals in Hobsons Bay
If you live in the inner west, chances are you have experienced more than one of our festivals and events.
If you live in the inner west, chances are you have experienced more than one of the festivals and events that take place each year in Hobsons Bay and its surrounding municipalities.
Council festivals and events support a number of organisations that present festivals and events. Recently supported events include Waitangi Multicultural Day, the Mitchelton Bay Classic Criterion, Williamstown Literary Festival, Newport Folk Festival and Australia Day in Altona.
Partnerships in flagship events such as GOWEST for Midsumma, Eat Drink Westside, part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, and the National Trust Heritage Festival, round out the calendar, adding value to residents by bringing unique experiences (and lots of visitors) close to home.
Council produces its own events, providing free summer music and film events in beautiful outdoor locations, and it has a role to play in the presentation of civic events such as Anzac Day, NAIDOC Week, Remembrance Day and the New Year’s Eve gathering. And just to complete a truly exciting year, Council became Principal Partner to support Hubcap Productions, exploring the creative and industrial landscape of the city in the presentation of the inaugural Art and Industry Festival.
