Events & Festivals Funding Opportunities
Major and special events, local events and festivals, small/short lead events.
Hobsons Bay City Council has a rich history of supporting arts, cultural, community, sporting, tourism and special interest events. In 2016-2017, 34 events received support through our funding streams. These included the Laverton Festival, Australia Day in Altona, Williamstown Literary Festival and the Newport Folk Festival. Local Events and Festivals Fund
Up to $10,000 is available for events primarily attracting local audiences that enhance the quality of life of residents, celebrate local identity and culture and providing a range of community benefits including participation, wellbeing and community connections. The next round for events taking place between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019 will be open for application from 16 February until 30 March 2018.
Small/Short Lead Events Fund
Up to $1000 is available to support small events that provide community benefits, including those held by special interest groups and/or which attract visitors to the municipality.

Major Event Sponsorship
Up to $25,000 is available for major events generating substantial community, tourism and economic outcomes, including visitation, and which increase the profile of the city.
The next round for events taking place between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019 will be open for application from 16 February until 30 March 2018.
Special Event Sponsorship
This sponsorship opportunity is aimed at major events with the ability to generate substantial community, economic and tourism benefits. The event is likely to have a state, national or international profile and would attract visitors to the municipality. Potential applicants should discuss their proposal with the Events Unit at least six months prior to the event date.
