Newport Lakes is a bushland oasis created from a former blustone quarry and rubbish tip site in the middle of Newport.

Over 150 species of birds have been recorded in the park, from birds of prey such as the  Black-shouldered Kite to yellow tailed black cockatoos to brush bronzewings to hoary-headed grebes.

Come along for a two hour walk and talk - hosted by the Friends of Newport Lakes. Meeting point: the car park off Lakes Drive.
